Garden Variety

It took a lot of work to get all these animals to sit still while I painted. Especially the one in the chair. Not that she's an animal or anything.

Barred Owl

Owls are cool. What else can you say? I think I'm finally finished with this painting.

My First Scribble

The reason I created this website in the first place was to post my doodles. The majority of them are done in pencil. You may find the subject of them hard to figure out. I don't always weight the lines. I generally work on a painting in the early morning and keep a drawing pad next to the bed for scribbling before I go to sleep. I also keep a pad with me when I go to work and find some time after my lunch for drawing of some kind.

Keychain Sculpture

I haven't had much experience with sculpting in wood. I found it to be much easier then I expected. I wanted to make something for family members that would last so I did the carvings below in lignum vitae.

Skull

Owl

Lignum vitae is a very hard wood which makes the carving process difficult. I enjoy it though and have another one to start on. It is the kitten seen below.

The Night is Young

Actually it's late afternoon and this is the first posting to my new blog. The goal is to share my latest art work in the form of oil paintings, watercolors, and drawings.
